Abigail Francois focuses her practice on landlord-tenant law, representing landlords, property owners, and property management companies in a broad range of residential and commercial landlord-tenant matters. She provides practical legal counsel and strategic advocacy to help clients resolve disputes efficiently while protecting their legal and business interests.
Abigail earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. During law school, she developed extensive advocacy, leadership, and legal research experience. She served as Chief Justice of the Student Government Association, where she oversaw the judicial branch, trained associate justices, and promoted professionalism and integrity within the student body. Abigail also served as a research assistant for law professors, conducting in-depth legal research, analyzing complex legal issues, and assisting with scholarly projects. These experiences strengthened her analytical skills and further developed the research and writing abilities that continue to benefit her clients today.
Prior to joining Hoover Slovacek, Abigail gained valuable legal experience across both private practice and in-house legal environments. She worked closely with in-house counsel at Orion, assisting with corporate, construction, and maritime legal matters. In that role, she conducted multi-state legal research, analyzed lien and indemnity laws, assisted with contract development, and supported risk management initiatives. Her experience also includes serving as a Litigation Assistant at Morgan & Morgan, where she assisted attorneys with case management, drafted legal documents, coordinated discovery, and prepared matters for litigation. Additionally, as a legal intern with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in the Crimes Against Children Division, she analyzed evidence, reviewed forensic interviews, and assisted prosecutors in preparing criminal cases.
Abigail’s diverse legal background provides her with a practical understanding of litigation strategy, legal research, and client advocacy.
