Joseph O. Slovacek Partner

Joseph O. Slovacek has been with Hoover Slovacek LLP since his graduation from the University of Houston Law School in 1976. For over 40 years, he has engaged in a general business practice encompassing real estate, corporate law and commercial litigation, representing a variety of clients principally involved in all facets of real estate. A number of the clients he represents include brokers, developers, owners, lenders and property managers of multi-family, commercial, retail and industrial properties.

He presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and, since 1983, has been General Counsel of Houston Office Leasing Brokers Association, Inc. (HOLBA).

Joe was appointed to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles in 2013 by Governor Rick Perry and was subsequently appointed in 2016 to the Texas Facilities Commission by Lt. Governor Dan Patrick. Joe was most recently appointed by Lt. Governor Patrick in December 2017 to fill a vacant seat on the Texas Ethics Commission.
