As a former middle school history teacher in the Houston area, Mrs. Scott-NeSmith began her career in education, where she sharpened the communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills that continue to define her legal approach. Her background instilled empathy, persistence, and a talent for breaking down complex issues; qualities her clients rely on when facing emotionally charged or legally intricate disputes.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Scott-NeSmith has managed complex litigation from inception through trial, prepared and tried cases in court, and negotiated favorable settlements in both litigation and transactional settings. She has served as senior counsel overseeing a diverse litigation portfolio, mentored new attorneys and legal staff, and led her own boutique law firm focused on real estate, business, estate planning, and probate. Earlier in her career, she worked in corporate contracts and compliance for one of the nation’s leading title companies.
Mrs. Scott-NeSmith earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she served as a Law Review Associate, competed in the Moot Court Federal Bar Competition, and interned in the Opal Mitchell Lee Property Preservation Clinic. She also holds both a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston, graduating with honors.
